When on the Inventory Item main page, at the top you will notice 5 tabs: Inventory items, Types, Categories, Storage and Units of Measurement.
Inventory items tab
This is a general view of all the items you have created or imported in Piecemeal. In this quick view, you see the item name, case cost, case quantity, supplier and the last time when you received the item. These columns can be sorted and coming soon you will be able to customize the columns that appear.
There is a SEARCH box at the top to help you search for a specific item.
From this screen you can add a single Inventory Item or add multiple Inventory Items at once by clicking on the green button New Inventory Item
Category tab
Under this tab you can create and manage the Category of items to identify them. This could be Food, Liquor, Wine, Beer, Packaging, etc. We have provided you with a common list of Types, but feel free to add your own, specific to your restaurant.
To add a new Category, simply click the Category green button on the right-hand side.
Sub-Categories tab
Under this tab you can create Sub-Categories of items to identify them more specifically. You can select from Protein, Fruit & Vegetables, Dairy, Grains, Liquor, Wine, Bottled Beer, Draft Beer, Etc. We have provided you with a common list of Categories, but feel free to add your own, specific to your restaurant.
To add a new sub-category please use the New sub-category green button on the right-hand side.
Storage tab
Under this tab you can create Storage - areas to identify where items are located -these storage areas will be useful to create specific counts when doing inventory. Dry Storage, Walk-In, Freezer, Bar, Etc. We have provided you with a common list of Storage, but feel free to add your own, specific to your restaurant.
To add a new storage please use the New Storage green button on the right-hand side.
Units of measurement tab
Under this tab you can create a new custom Unit of Measurement for your items. We have provided you with a common list of Categories, but feel free to add your own, specific to your restaurant.
To add a new unit of measure please use the New Unit green button on the right-hand side.
